A MAMO piece is climbed on, napped on and lived with every day, so we choose what goes into it as carefully as we design it: certified foam, soft covers that come off for washing, and solid wood where strength matters.
Foam you can trust
The foam inside our beds, sofas, reading corners and play pieces is certified to CertiPUR-US®, a programme that tests foam for its content, emissions and durability. It is firm enough to hold its shape under jumping children and soft enough for a nap.
Foam pieces travel vacuum-packed to keep them compact. Once unpacked they breathe back to full size: allow up to 72 hours.
Covers that come off
Our covers are certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, which tests every part of a textile, down to the thread and the zip, for substances harmful to health. Most of them zip off, so they can be washed and put back on. Our care guides explain how to wash each one.
Teddy
A soft, looped fabric that feels warm to the touch, in Cotton White, Sea Sand, Beige, Toffee and Marshmallow Pink. On Ella, Lucy, Alice, Coco, Arya and Oliver.
Corduroy
A fine corduroy with a gentle rib, in cream, beige and grey. On Zoe, Sky, Nico, Mila, and as an option on Lucy and Oliver.
Suede
A smooth, suede-like fabric in warm, earthy tones. On Rainbow, Noah and Enzo, and as an option on Lucy and Alice.
Natural fabrics vary a little from one batch to the next, and screens show colours differently. If you would like to see a colour more closely, write to us and we will send more photos.
Mattresses
Our Premium Visco Aloe mattresses are two-sided: a memory foam side that gently follows the body, and a firmer side of high-density foam, so the mattress can be turned as your child grows. The Premium Classic is high-density orthopaedic foam, the same on both sides. Both have a soft aloe vera cover that zips off for washing, are certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and CertiPUR-US®, and are made to the European standard. Every MAMO bed has a mattress made to fit it exactly.
Play mats
The Aimee mats have a shock-absorbing XPE foam core inside a PU cover that resists liquids and wipes clean, ready for spilled milk and painting days. They fold away when the floor is needed for something else.
Solid wood
The Chase and Zuma play fences are solid New Zealand pine, joined with BPA-free connectors and anchored to the floor with the kit in the box. The wood is left natural, with its grain and small variations.
Made to last, made to be used
Foam softens a little with use, fabric gains character, and wood mellows in the light. That is what well-loved furniture does. If something isn’t right with your piece, tell us and we will help.
